"We are officially way past the point of underlining again and again that Nic is Nuts. Carrying the torch from Mandy, Cage shows a tinge of the same weirdness here. A very Fincher/Pizzolatto (coincidentally with the same first name Nic) style crime mystery which crosses the line designated for thrillers out into the realm of straightaway psychological horror. I mean it's definitely not at par with Zodiac or Mindhunter or True Detective when it comes to its investigative elements but…"
