"In the dimly-lit drab seedy underbelly of the ruined Gotham City post-deluge, Penguin's penchant for purple and immense love for his Ma stands out. What this show delivered was that it took a supervillain arc and developed it to emphasize betrayal, bad blood, loyalty, distrust, revenge and ambitions to Shakespearean proportions, sometimes even biblical. Where it went slightly wrong was it felt a bit rushed as if it was specifically designed like a bridge to serve as a paved causeway…"
