"Gunn trades off substance with usual confetti-clad opulence, awe and trademarks of giant fantastical monsters preferably with tentacles (why can't the creatures in Gunn's movies be scary for once; big land octopus, butterflies, starfish), love for animals therefore sidekicks, found family, villains possessing delusion of grandeur to achieve the dreamy utopia/dystopia. The studios have to think beyond the captioned conversations, childlike flippant dialogues, out of place speeches, going off on tangents to fish for humor, the emotional bits all over…"
