"A locked-room horror with a purgatory theme that is representative of the device- "Jack in the box", where Jack can be anything from a clown to a ghoul or a giant masked man to a scary environment. Sounds intriguing, right? But, This is what happens when a studio commits too much to remain faithful to the skeletal, conceptual framework of the original game while ignoring the theme and be resistant to tweaking the premise and the characters.
