For a dystopian science fiction, this was really funny. Even the set design was a piece of satire. The characters were silly and madcap. The machinery and equipment were wacky. Dialogues were snippy snappy. Apparels and cuisine; hilarious. It must be like a carnival inside the mind of Terry Gilliam. If Kafka and PKD had met for a soiree over a movie starring Charlie Chaplin performing his antics in a Monty Python bit, Brazil would have been the perfect choice. By the end of the movie, I was left wondering if I just watched a musical without being fully aware that it was in fact supposed to be a musical!! Like Orwell's 1984 if it was a comedy and the department had run out of funding. To be more accurate, a science fiction version of The Truman Show years before The Truman Show.
