"Early Soderbergh. Gentleman robbers. Detroit and Miami. Prison. Prize fight. Freeze frames. Pretty boy charmer Clooney. Don Cheadle. Femme fatale. Plays like a rehearsal for Danny Ocean's crew. Peppy music. But, the real interesting part was how much a caper wanted to shed its skin and rather become a romcom. Very Thomas Crown Affair but more subtle, less showy and bombastic."
