The original Weapons before Zach Cregger's Weapons + Beti Bachao Beti Padhao + a hint of CJP protestLevel 2 is more blatant. A little too melodramatic even for the extenuating circumstances. But, the overly contrived dramatic scenes gradually weaned off into unsettlingly painful acting around realism. The performers were selling the crap out of the premise while having a field day. It's not at all hush hush like Weapons. Very outdoorsy and smack dab in the middle of daylight as well as in full view of the public. That kinda takes the edge off of the initial ghastly shock. Yet, it all works together seamlessly to create a solid follow-up. Disturbing. Cold. Cathartic.
