"Presence tries to rewrite the code of the mystical without writing a coherent plot or interesting players to fill that plot. It's the foundational element underlying the disposition of the protagonist of The Shining but programmed for the consumers of Apple products. It borrows major details from Oculus, the Ouija Universe and the Lorraines and rearranges the pov incorporating a floating peering camera work to eke out, well, a supernatural presence. It seems Soderberg will keep doing this current era…"
